Studio Tord Boontje

Renowned product designer Tord Boontje has taken the Ground Floor and Lower Ground Floor at 23 Charlotte Road in the centre of the Shoreditch Triangle as a showroom and design studio. Our private landlord clients have painstakingly restored this former warehouse building to probably far beyond its former glories. Hopefully they will feel this effort worthwhile when this character space is showcasing Tord's award winning work. Studio Tord Boontje has taken a lease over 2,171 sq. ft. (Approx.) combined across the two floors.

Bossa Plays On

We are delighted to have again assisted silcon roundabout success story Bossa Studios. Back in April these plucky and quirky App Game Developers rented through through us an office in Chapel Place. By September the start-up had been acquired by Elizabeth Murdoch's Shine Group and following that they needed room to expand. So a floor in Solecast House on Brunswick Place, London N1 fitted the bill and we wish them continued success.

We welcome Pioneer DJ to the Hoxton area following their signing of a lease to take a unit at The Timber Yard on Drysdale Street, London N1. Pioneer will use the office as as base to promote their DJing equipment and selected the location due to its proximity to the cutting edge night life of Shoreditch, Hoxton and Dalston.

We're delighted that SideKick Studios today took a lease in Fergusson House on City Road a stone's throw from Silicon Roundabout. Sidekick's relocation should give them space to expand and looking at their website they are hiring. They develop software with social impact and social purpose so their choice of location seems spot on.

Leonard's Little White Lies

Creative agency and stable of magazines The Church of London has relocated within Shoreditch to great new premises on Leonard Street. The company is growing from strength to strength with titles including film magazine Little White Lies and the surf and skate inspired Huck. We recommend the App for Little White Lies - its an excellent tool to have decent film reviews in your pocket.

Itsu Facto

We are delighted to announce that on behalf our Landlord clients we have let 49-51 Great Eastern Street to Istu who were represented by Oliver Green of Savills. Itsu will be a very welcome addition to the lunctime options around Shoreditch and join a cluster of operators; Pret a Manger, Eat and Apostrophe in the middle section of Great Eastern Street. Itsu's contractors are now on-site with a November opening to work towards.

More Music To Our Ears

We are delighted that MassiveMusic have today completed a lease over the Basement and Ground Floor at 133 Curtain Road for their first London Studio and Office. MassiveMusic, with operations in Amsterdam, New York, Los Angeles and Shanghai, work on the soundtracks to an array of Commercials and Video Games as well providing Sonic Branding to big business. Of note is that they have selected Shoreditch for their London location and join fellow aural specialists including, the long established, Strongroom Studios across Curtain Road as well as Soundtree who purchased in the area in the last fortnight.

Another Brace at Zetland House

Not often we let premises to companies that own satellites ... it would be topical but nothing to do with BSkyB this time. Avanti Communications, who use their satellites to supply superfast broadband to business, have taken an office in Zetland House. Another new arrival at Zetland this week was Powster who create highly engaging interactive experiences and socially shareable media content for their clients online and social media presence.

Sound Investment for Soundtree

Remember that great "Surfer" TV advert for Guinness? Soundtree, the company that provided the soundtrack for the Ad, have purchased 8 Chapel Place, Rivington Street, London EC2A 3DQ from Pension Fund clients of ours. Soundtree are moving into Shoreditch from Great Marlborough Street in Soho and, after refurbishing the building to incorprate specialist sound recording studios, will be moving in September. Goodman Mann Broomhall acted for Soundtree and the 4,518 sq. ft. long leasehold building with two underground car parking spaces changed hands for £1,265,000.

Dockers a brand of Levi Strauss has opened a new showroom and store at 3 Charlotte Road, London EC2A 3DH. Dockers join Lee and Denham who already have premises on Charlotte Road. Our Landlord client has just completed installing an expensive new shop front for the store which is looking good. With the promise of that rent coming in its got to be worth it.

We are delighted to have let for a private client their shop at 25 Pitfield Street, London N1 6HB to Nine Tails Studio. Ninetails specialise in traditional Japanese Tattooing which is gaining a growing following in London. The art and imagery are something to behold and if, like us, you're a bit scared to go for ink on skin we are understand a wide range of T-Shirts and other items will be available in the forthcoming store.

Austrian lighting company XAL will open a new London Showroom at Ground Floor and Basement, 22 Bateman's Row, London EC2A 3HH. The unique space we let to them forms part of a building which was a runner up in the 2010 RIBA Stirling Prize.

Another relocation ... This time Julian Watson Agency has taken 1,585 sq. ft. on Ground Floor and a car parking space at 13-21 Curtain Road paying a rent of £42,000 per annum which breaks back to just over £25 per sq. ft. pa. Julian Watson Agency looks after Hair, Make Up Artists and Stylists whoose work regularly appears on the cover of Vogue Magazine. The Agency is relocating from Hoxton Square and will make Curtain Road their main office with a satellite office opening in New York.
